ART 6 - 2D/3D
Teacher: Stephanie Teo
The 6th grade Bridge unit examines bridges from different cultures and times, from Leonardo da Vinci’s arched bridge design to the myriad of bridges of New York City, considering each bridge from a structural engineering perspective and as a creative interpretation of gateway and connection.
Students took on the architect’s dilemma of balancing form with function by inventing their own imaginary bridges based on a theme of their choice. By thinking outside of the box, students used recycled materials such as toilet paper rolls, cardboard, wood scraps, and everyday items in innovative and unexpected ways, and brought their creative visions into fruition!
The 6th graders in Art 2D/3D Shop class present our first ever DIGITAL puppet show based on the Balinese shadow puppet storytelling tradition. Inspired by a myth, legend, or fairytale from various world cultures, students worked in groups to compose and act out their 100% original script. Students have created colorful stick puppets, recording at home and combining clips in iMovie to bring to you these modern twists on age old tales. Get ready for some laughs! Enjoy the shows.
